One of the most important parts of our goods are the fabrics we use. They need to live up to the purpose of the garments. There is no compromise in the use of the highest quality, as we need a reliable construction that performs well for years to come. We focus on fabrics mainly made from natural materials for the best possible combination of comfort, durability and evolution over time. Below you can find information about the fabrics, their constructions and their benefits.

HEAVY DUTY HEMP CANVAS 434
Our heavy-duty hemp canvas is a 55% organic hemp / 28% recycled poly (Unifi) / 17% organic cotton blend construction at 12.8oz / 434 gsm and is ready to go from the start, no break-in needed. This fabric is made to be used excessively and without compromise. It will get better with wear and wash in terms of softness without losing strength and it will develop a nice patina.

HEAVY DUTY HEMP CANVAS 330
Our heavy-duty hemp canvas is a 55% organic hemp / 28% recycled poly (Unifi) / 17% organic cotton blend construction at 9.7oz / 330 gsm and is ready to go from the start, no break-in needed. This fabric is made to be used excessively and without compromise. It will get better with wear and wash in terms of softness without losing strength and it will develop a nice patina.
It is a bit lighter than the 434 canvas version to make it easier for layering in warmer weather.

For our canvas we use a blend of different raw materials to get the performance benefits and longevity of their combination.
Our warp is a corespun 55% organic hemp and 45% recycled performance polyester (Unifi) yarn that uses a 6ply construction and a 21s count. The fine yarns add up to an incredibly strong and durable final strand. The poly core helps to make the construction light and quick-drying.
The weft is a ringspun 55% organic hemp and 45% organic cotton yarn that uses a 3ply construction and an 11s count. Again, we have the durability of the long and strong hemp fibers in the mix with the softness and flexibility of the cotton. This results in the natural comfort of the fabric.

About Our Hemp
Hemp is one of the strongest natural fibers and its antibacterial properties as well as its resistance to UV rays make it ideal for enduring garments.
For reference, hemp's tensile strength is eight times that of cotton.

The hemp plant is a very fast-growing crop and doesn’t require pesticides, herbicides, or insecticides to grow. These chemicals are toxic to the environment, including the people and animals around the farmland.
It can produce 250% more fiber than cotton on the same amount of land.
Hemp is actually one of the fastest-growing crops in the world and can fully grow within four to twelve weeks.
The hemp plant also leaves the soil in excellent condition for any succeeding crop. Hemp’s strong roots anchor and protect the soil from runoff. They build and preserve topsoil and subsoil structures similar to those of forests. It also adds rich organic matter to the topsoil and retains moisture.
