As the planter is made from only wood, it is recommended to avoid the direct contact of water over a longer period of time, as well as soil, as this will damage the wood and the joints.
The best option is the use of a waterproof inner pot, like a nice clay pot (depending on the plants you use) with a saucer.
For a decoration that provides ventilation for the wood and excess water, we added larger pumice stones to the lower part and some gravel to the top for a cleaner surface.
