One of the most important parts of our goods are the fabrics we use. They need to live up to the purpose of the garments. There is no compromise in the use of the highest quality, as we need a reliable construction that performs well for years to come. We focus on fabrics mainly made from natural materials as we can achieve the best possible combination of comfort, durability and evolution over time. Below you can find information about the fabrics, their constructions and their benefits.

HEAVY DUTY HEMP CANVAS

HEAVY DUTY HEMP CANVAS 434

Our heavy-duty hemp canvas is a 55% organic hemp / 28% recycled poly (Unifi) / 17% organic cotton blend construction at 12.8oz / 434 gsm and is ready to go from the start, no break-in needed. This fabric is made to be used excessively and without compromise. It will get better with wear and wash in terms of softness without losing strength and it will develop a nice patina.

HEAVY DUTY HEMP CANVAS 330

Our heavy-duty hemp canvas is a 55% organic hemp / 28% recycled poly (Unifi) / 17% organic cotton blend construction at 9.7oz / 330 gsm and is ready to go from the start, no break-in needed. This fabric is made to be used excessively and without compromise. It will get better with wear and wash in terms of softness without losing strength and it will develop a nice patina.
It is a bit lighter than the  434 canvas version to make it easier for layering in warmer weather.

For our canvas we use a blend of different raw materials to get the performance benefits and longevity of their combination.
Our warp is a corespun 55% organic hemp and 45% recycled performance polyester (Unifi) yarn that uses a 6ply construction and a 21s count. The fine yarns add up to an incredibly strong and durable final strand. The poly core helps to make the construction light and quick-drying.
The weft is a ringspun 55% organic hemp and 45% organic cotton yarn that uses a 3ply construction and an 11s count. Again, we have the durability of the long and strong hemp fibers in the mix with the softness and flexibility of the cotton. This results in the natural comfort of the fabric.

The weave is a canvas, which is an extremely durable plain-woven fabric that has been in use for thousands of years.
It is made by tightly weaving yarns together in a plain weave, which is a very basic textile weave. The warp (vertical) threads are held steady on the loom, while the weft threads cross over and under each warp.
This makes the pattern very versatile and workable for heavy yarns.

The word "canvas" is derived from the 13th-century Anglo-French canevaz and the Old French canevas. Both may be derivatives of the vulgar Latin cannapaceus for "made of hemp", originating from the Greek (cannabis).

Our fabric comes from a factory that only works with its own manufacturing facilities or facilities where careful audits, long-standing relationships, and the QC staff ensure that strict standards are met. Only EU-approved dyes and chemicals are used in the dyeing and finishing processes. Also, water wastage is carefully monitored and controlled.
The factory is HIGG-certified.

HEAVYWEIGHT HEMP BRUSHED TERRY 434

Our heavyweight brushed terry is a 55% organic hemp / 45% organic cotton blend construction at 12.7oz  / 432gsm that combines the softness of natural cotton with the breathable, strong characteristics of hemp.

The fabric is undyed and comes in a natural off-white color.
It has a nice, slightly uneven, structure on the outside which can take a beating.
On the inside the fabric has a soft brushing to keep you warm and cozy.

French terry is a type of weft insertion jersey. The piles on the fabric are not napped and the technical back of the fabric is used as face side.
French terry has loops on the inside only.
We add a light brushing to the loops for a softer and warmer feel.

MIDWEIGHT HEMP JERSEY 240

Our midweight jersey is a 55% organic hemp / 45% organic cotton blend construction at 6.78oz / 230gsm gsm that combines the softness of natural cotton with the breathable, strong characteristics of hemp.

The fabric is undyed and comes in a natural off-white color.
It has a nice, slightly uneven, structure which gives the fabric as nice look and feel.

Single jersey is a knit fabric built of loops in vertical rows called wales and horizontal rows called courses.
It is made on a single bank of needles and all the stitches are drawn in the same direction. As the structure contains only knitted loops, it also means the fabric has a smooth frontside with a slight single rib knit, while the back is piled with loops.

Our single jersey is pretty lightweight in comparison to other knits, but still a close knit with considerable stretchiness due to its loops, making it ideal as a base layer and a versatile textile for daily use.

The close-knit structure provides good drape, breathability and comfort for the wearer.
